I have been talking about fiddling about with SEO for sometime now, and I can officially say that at this moment in time I am 100% SEO and 0% PPC. There are couple reasons for this. Some personal, some financial.

The fact still remains that PPC is great for making huge sums of money fast, and SEO is good for making money for the long hall (you’ll read that on every blog known to man ).. O.k. Great, now that we have that out of the way… Simply put I just plain like SEO better. Why? Because it fits my personality a little better then PPC. PPC is high stakes gambling, and SEO is lower stakes gambling. PPC you gamble with your money, SEO you gamble with your time. At this moment in life I have more time to throw away then money! Further more, given the recent events of my life the last month ( i.e. my father almost dyeing. ). SEO just suits my life better. I almost took a month off being online when my father got sick and I when I came back online I was still earning $50 – $80 a day. No, It’s not millions or $1000’s a day BUT it’s nice income to have when you literally aren’t doing any work. Let’s face it folks, when a world renown surgeon says to you, “Your father could die at any moment with in the next 48 hours”. The last thing on your mind is optimizing and watching campaigns!

But listen, I’m not trying to convert anyone to do anything. If you like PPC, then stick with it. If you need to make a profit today, this second, this minute and have a spare credit card sitting around then GO CRAZY! I’m simply saying that after some soul searching the last 2 years I like SEO. : )

With that said, I don’t mean to brag but right now i can rank for almost any keyword that isn’t ridiculously hard to rank for like ‘ Payday Loan ‘ or ‘diets’ or ‘Make Money Online’.  Which might sound like I have it made, BUT … Because there is always a but… SEO takes time, and the harder the keyword the more time it takes. My usual goal is to try to find low competition key words with lots of searches. That research takes time and sometimes a few weeks to rank for. And even with the most careful planning a word or site might be a flop. Then you are back to square one attempting to figure out if the problem is the webpage, the word, or the offer.

Recently I tried my hand at a competitive keyword, just to see if I could do it. Three months later I am on page one in Google for this word! It’s not the 1st spot, but it’s page 1 none the less. But I am having little to no sales. Which is a bummer, but I’ll start tweaking some things and see what changes. Here’s the thing though, I now know I can do make it for a more competitive keywords. This very fact opens up a world of possibilities to me. If every 4 to 6 months I can rank for a money making keyword then i’ll be golden !!! Because let’s face it $50 to $120 a day is nice, but after taxes it’s nothing you can live off of. Plus, my goal is $100,000 a YEAR!

Now, your next question… How do I rank? Well, I can’t tell you in exact detail because if i did then everyone would do it. I can however tell you that 95% of what I do I learned online. Yup. It’s all over the internet on how to do it! The other 5% I learned by networking. Brenden from 20YearBillionaire.com is pretty much a genius and taught me some stuff. And I know I talk about Tyler ( TylerCruz.com ) a lot – But he’s pretty much an amazing human who has really helped me from day 1.

I feel like I have so much in my favor right now. Now I just need to do something with it!
