I’m not a super affiliate and thus I hate the idea of writing about techniques or secrets. No one wants to read about how to be successful from someone who has only seen mediocre successes. I mean no wants to read about how to become a millionaire from someone who isn’t a millionaire, right? Thus, I have told myself from day one, “I will not write about ways to make money online, unless I’m making a ton.” Well, today is the day I break the rules. But just a little bit. Nothing earth shattering… However, with this little technique a newbie would be able to see some cash flow.

So, in internet marketing with a web site there are 2 ways to make money. One is to have a couple BIG sites that make you all the money, and another is to have a bunch of little sites that make you a little money. There is also another you need to know, google is king. Oh, and the last thing… Keywords, keywords, keywords. Spend a good chunk of time researching keywords that have little competition, but lots to mediocre searches. Then see about how much these keywords get per-click using google adsense by using google’s keyword tool ( Find Google’s Keyword tool by Clicking HERE ). Once you find a keyword(s) that makes at least a good about per-click, has little competition & lots searches per-day you can move on to the next step. I suggest making an excel sheet to keep track of what keywords you’ve looked, which ones were good, which ones were failures.

Next, sign up for a FREE blog at blogger.com. When asked the name of the webpage put in your keyword. So, if you keyword is “Farting is Fun”, then your webpage would be “www.FartingIsFun.blogspot.com”. Afterwards, sign up for an adsense account by Clicking Here.  If you don’t know what adsense is then Click Here and read about it.

Then start to write about whatever that keyword is! And include your keyword often in your writing, but not sooo often that it sounds like SPAM! Also, add your adsense code to the blog. Make it the first thing people when they get to the blog. Feel free to make it loud! BUT not so loud that it looks like some ad screaming at you. Keep the texted color the same as the color of your typing, and keep the color scheme the same as your blogs color scheme.

Here are some things you should know to help you. Google currently owns Blogger.com, and because of it I have found that Google will rank Blogger.com blog’s faster then other blogs. (When I say ‘rank’ I mean rank higher in the search on Google). The downfall with Blogger.com is that google monitors it and google doesn’t like crap. So, if you are writing spam like stuff more then likely your blog is going to be flagged and remove. That will make you very sad. Another thing is when I say write often I mean it! Google Loves, loves, loves it when you update. So if time allows update your blog 2 times a day! Updates don’t have to be long. Other things that google likes is that you are linking to other blogs, and have a related twitter and facebook page that is linked to the blog. And from what I have heard, but I am not sure if it is true, google likes to see that your blog has an original design. So take sometime and find a unique blogger template. Or take an existing blogger template and change something to make it your own.

After sometime, all depending on how unique your keyword is, you will start to appear in google’s search engine. Please will come to your sight, click on your adsense ads and wha – la! You Are Making Some Money. If you repeat this process a bunch of time you will be making more money then you have ever thought!

Disclaimer: You can make money this way. I promise. But it won’t happen over night. With any internet business  —> YOUR EFFORT TODAY, WILL PAY OFF IN RESULTS TOMORROW!   <—– So, basically you have to put in a lot of work in the beginning with no payout, but I swear with time it’ll pay off!

    Hi Becky,

Great post. i feel the same about blogspot. I do think Google give them more “weight” with SEO ranking.

What I wanted to ask is- How long does it take for you on average to earn after making a niche website?

I have some ideas on niche website and have not really put much effort into one yet.

Phoebe, That question is nearly impossible to answer. If I were you I would just take the niche website ideas of yours, ALL OF THEM, and run with it. Stick with it for 6 months to a year and you are sure to make a profit! I promise!

Nice article. Im glad i stopped by your site. I have an online business (not related to affiliates) but am gonna take a look into affiliate marketing. seems tough with all the competition. but I learn a little here and there.. I like what you wrote about blogger being owned by google and therefore google “likes” blogger.com. I think I can even use that to my advantage for my regular business. so this was good all around reading. thanks! :)

question: because of google, Do you think blogger.com would rank higher than a self hosted wordpress blog? its probably impossible to register a keyword domain anyway, but just wondering what you think.

I’ve never read anywhere that blogger.com blogs are more liked by google, it’s just been my experience that they rank faster, get fast page rank then self-hosted blogs. There is a down size though, blogger.com also has the power to take down your blog at anytime without warning or reason. It happened to me, and it’s next to impossible to get a hold of someone about it. They took down one of my blogs stating that it was a “Spam blog” and I never wrote anything “spamm-ie” in it at all.
